Little Green Hands

Little Green Hands, an annual environmental program designed to provide the platform for children to learn about the environmental issues that persistently confront the country. This year, the program sought to present school children the opportunity to understand the underlying causes of the sanitation challenges facing the country and its possible remedies. Waste management was a major focus for this year. Little Green Hands was organized by Conservation Alliance in Partnership with the Regional Envionment Office of the US Embassy. The program also received support from Ghana Youth Climate Coalition ,Accra Compost and Recycling Plant Limited, Ama Odame Okyere Foundation, Ghana Planeteer Movement, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, , Eco Cycle Ghana, Coca- Cola Company Limited, ETV Ghana, Air Force Basic School and Dansoman ‘4’ Basic School. The education on waste supported this year’s theme ‘STIMULATING ENVIRONMENTAL CARE AND OWNERSHIP IN OUR FUTURE GENERATION TODAY’ and its slogan is ENVIRONMENT….MY LIFE!……. SANITATION…… MY RESPONSIBILTY!! Taking steps to inculcate environmental ownership in children is paramount as it shapes their attitude towards the environment and provides the foundation of building their urge for environmental protection in the future.
