GYCC with support from the Forestry Commission of Ghana started a campaigned dubbed “One Tree One Life”. The campaign involved a tree planting exercise in selected schools (Asem mixed school, aboabo M/Aschool, Prempeh College and Kumasi Anglican senior high school.)Within the Kumasi metropolis where members of the GYCC executive body together with GYCC members within the selected aforementioned schools as well as teaching staff participated. The campaign aims at bringing to bare the importance of trees in maintaining a healthy climatic environment and also serving as a vital step in the right direction towards entreating others to join the GYCC and participate in sustaining a green and healthy environment. Aside the One Tree One Life campaign being a complement to the green initiative tour, it also targets a much wider scope. In the year ahead, the campaign is envisioned to take place in a wider net of schools as well as communities that are outside the Kumasi Metropolis and with time beyond.
